Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds Announced for January 2018

Fallout Gaming and Purpose Win have just recently announced Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds, to be held in the Philippines next year. The first Dota 2 Major of the year is slotted to play out in the Philippine Area on 19-21st January 2018.

Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds will have a highly attractive prize pool of $1,000,000 and is one of the largest Dota 2 tournaments in Asia. Qualifiers will be held for the regions of Southeast Asia, the Americas, Europe, and China. The expected participation for open qualifiers is 1,000 teams, while regional invited qualifiers will have a fixed participation of 32 teams.

In an effort to introduce grassroots Dota 2 teams into the professional scene, top amateur teams from New Blood Championships, a SEA-wide amatuer-only Dota 2 tournament, will also be invited to play in Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds.

Galaxy Battles: Emerging Worlds has already announced four of eight direct invites to the Major. Dota 2 veteran teams Newbee, OG, Infamous, and TNC will be playing at the main event.
